ANASTASIA
EL MUSICAL
Music has always been part of my life, since I was 5 years old and I started to play piano. I studied music for 10 years, until I quit because I couldn't manage both with my school. But one year later I was missing music so much I decided to take dance classes, as another way of approaching music. My dance school organized each year a big and ambitious festival to celebrate the end of the year and the beginning of summer, with the objective to show the progress to the parents, but also, to give all the students a real theatrical experience. It's a very friendly school where everybody knows each other, and when they knew I'm interested in audiovisuals, they gave me the opportunity to produce the DVD and making of of the show.

2017's show was about "Anastasia" story, and it was the most challenging show because we introduced a chorus that sang the original songs. Us, the dancers, had to work with them, follow them and dance to live music instead of dancing to a recorded versions (as we had always done before). That was also challenging for the production as it was a lot of people to take into account, and some issues to forsee before they even arise. As I was dancing also in the show, I worked with colleagues that shot the show from different perspectives, but afterwards, I edited the one hour and a half show, and all other materials, as the making of (which I also shot myself).
These projects where music takes an important role are my favourites to edit, as I can play a lot with it. It allows the edit to dance also with it, follow its rhythm and melody, while it elevates the video to another dimension to what you are seeing.
