I participated in Blog Europa for my internship credits for the degree, during my Erasmus stay in Austria. Blog Europa is a TV Programe that airs on Sundays in one of the channels of the local television from Catalunya, TV3. This show depends on the Erasmus students who participate, as they are responsible to produce and create at least five reports about an interesting subject from their host country. If students don't make any report, there is no show that week. That statement was stuck in my mind since the moment I joined the internship, as it prepared me for the responsibility I was taking. It wasn't an academic assignment, it was a professional one, and with it came the responsibility and motivation that pushed me to live the Erasmus stay with my eyes open, looking for stories and people that could be interesting. Participating in Blog Europa made the whole experience of Austria even more exhilarating.
I was in charge of everything related to the report, and I think it was the experience I have learned most from. I had to come up with an interesting subject and script it, look up for people I could interview related to the subject, shoot, edit, and post-produce it. And on top of that, I had to appear in front of the camera (as a journalist would do) to give some of the information. I would send the report to the TV and receive some feedback, which was usually nothing to change as they followed up the process.

I was living in Sankt Pölten, a small city 30 minutes from Vienna, but it could be said that not that much was happening there. So thanks to the motivation of looking for ideas, I travelled a lot to Vienna and surroundings looking for stories. The TV gave me a camera, a tripod and a cable-mike, but apart from that, everything depended on me.
