L'ESPECTACLERIA
After a film shoot where I was 1st AD, one of the actress called me as she was part of the organisation L'Espectacleria, from Sant Cugat (a close village of Barcelona), and they needed a videographer for their anual summer festivity "Festa dels Diables" (Devil's party). It's a typical catalan festivity (every village calls it their way), where fire is an important element. There are huge giants and creatures that are carried by a group of people and followed by all the village, and from time to time it spits fire, quite a lot of it.
I was asked to record the day, as the fire part happens when the evening starts. During the day other activities happen for the kids, there are artisan shops around, concerts, etc. This festivity happens in the summer, and every village has its time.
When Christmas arrived, they called me again to cover the show they organise for the kids in preparation for the Three Kings Festivity. In Spain they are more important than Santa Claus, and the 6th of January is when the kids receive most of their presents. L'Espectacleria organised the Factory of the Three Kings, where the page-boys received the kids letters, where the presents are build, where they are created and imagined... I was in charged of filming all the stages, and the experience of the show into a promo video that was used on social platforms to promote it during the previous days.
