PIEZAS
"Piezas" (Pieces) is a webserie that started two years ago with a pilot episode that won a series contest and the participation of a TV. I joined the team to produce the following four episodes, which will be on air April 2019 on Betevé, and accessible also on Youtube.
It's a project full of intelligence, humour and realism in which everybody believed in. It's a compilation of the Director and the main character's lives, and it's treated with self-reflection and sensibility. It has been created with pieces of the lives of everybody involved, and each one of us of the team have put a piece of us in it, that's why even if it doesn't talk about us, it is us.
The strongest point of the series is all the different levels of significant and the meta-content created to break the fourth wall, the screen in this case, to maintain a critical mind, and also to be able to laugh at ourselves with those small true moments. To be critic about life and about fiction. About what we feel and what we do.
I joined the project in summer, four weeks before the first shooting. But during the first week, I felt it like mine already. The following four episodes were more ambitious than the first one, and the production needed some order and work as nobody was taking care of the whole picture yet, so I became Executive Producer. I worked closely with the Director and he made me feel as part of the project from the first moment, which allowed me to become even more engaged with the series. The more I knew about the story, the more I fell in love with it.
